Self-Guided Tours:

  • Youth/Student - $12
  • Child (5 years and younger) - Free

No reservations? Walk-ins are based on availability without guarantees.

Large groups are welcome with prior arrangements.  

Guided private tours are available upon request.

Parking

Free parking is available behind the museum, as well as on the surrounding streets.


Public Transit

The museum is easily accessible by RTD light rail or bus. Located across the street from the 30th and Downing Station, the museum is a convenient stop for visitors using public transportation. Public transit routes

Visitors are welcome to take photos, but please no video recordings. Please credit the Black American West Museum & Heritage Center in all online posts using images of the museum’s interior and exterior.

Accessibility

The Black American West Museum & Heritage Center is committed to making its exhibits as accessible as possible. The museum has ramp access to the first floor of the historic house; however, please note that the second floor is only accessible by stairs. We are currently working on creating a digital guide to better accommodate all visitors’ needs.

If you have specific accessibility questions or need assistance during your visit, please contact us in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
