Volunteer with us.
The success of the Black American West Museum & Heritage Center is made possible by the dedication of our incredible volunteers. We’re looking for passionate, energetic individuals of all backgrounds who share an appreciation for the rich and complex history of the American West.
Volunteers play a vital role in shaping the museum experience, helping us welcome visitors, support programs, and bring our stories to life. Positions available include, but are not limited to:
- Cashier/Greeter: Welcome guests, manage the front desk, handle admissions, answer phones, and help keep the museum running smoothly.
- Docent/Tour Guide: Lead tours and educational programs for visitors of all ages, assist with exhibit interpretation, and support research and special events.
- Events and Programming Leader: Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing events and programs. Support outreach efforts, maintain event records and reports, and help grow community engagement through strategic programming initiatives.
No matter your background or expertise, we have a place for you. Whether you're passionate about education, administration, hospitality, or history, we welcome your unique skills and enthusiasm.
