For Educators

Connecting past and present.

The Black American West Museum & Heritage Center offers dynamic programs designed to complement school curriculum standards while immersing students in the rich history of African Americans in the West. Many children have limited knowledge of how daily life has evolved—from horses to cars, letters to email.

Our interactive presentations help students recognize these changes by engaging in hands-on activities that bring history to life. Through role-playing, hands-on crafts, and expert storytelling, students gain a deeper understanding of the resilience, determination, and pioneering spirit it took to survive in the rugged West.
